MELT Manditory Entry Level Training certification.
Course Information

The Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) program is a requirement for anyone pursuing their Class 1A commercial driver’s license in Saskatchewan. This course provides a structured and comprehensive approach to learning the essential skills needed to operate heavy vehicles safely and responsibly on the road.

Our MELT program includes a total of 121.5 hours of combined classroom instruction and in-vehicle training. Students receive 47 hours of in-class theory over one week and 74.5 hours of hands-on driving over four weeks. In just five weeks, you’ll be equipped with the practical knowledge and experience required to earn your license. At the end of the course, you will have 2 tries for the practical exam which is SGI certified. We provide the truck and trailer for the exams.

Training covers all critical areas of commercial driving, including pre-trip inspections, air test training, electronic logbook usage, shifting, backing, coupling/uncoupling, chaining tires, cornering, and basic maintenance. We also focus heavily on safe driving practices and road awareness, ensuring our graduates are confident and competent behind the wheel.
