Class 3A – Tandem Truck Training

The Class 3A Tandem Truck Training course is designed for individuals seeking to operate trucks with more than two axles or a tandem truck with a registered gross vehicle weight over 4,540 kg. While this course does not cover semi-trailer trucks, it opens doors to a wide range of careers including dump truck, cement truck, vacuum truck, sewer truck, and grain truck operation.

We offer multiple course lengths to suit your schedule. The 5-day course includes 16 hours of training (4 hours per day) with testing on the final day. Our 7-day option provides 24 hours of training, and the 10-day course offers a full 36 hours, giving you extra time to build confidence and prepare for testing, which we will book on the last day and you will have 2 tries for the practical exam. We provide the truck and trailer for the exam.

Training focuses on essential skills such as pre-trip inspections, air brake testing, shifting, backing, brake adjustments, logbook usage, and basic truck handling. Each course includes up to two tests to ensure you’re ready for the road and meet licensing requirements.

We coordinate your test booking with SGI and ensure the vehicle you train in is the same vehicle used for your road test. Our goal is to make the process smooth and supportive from start to finish, with a strong focus on safety, confidence, and real-world truck operation.
